After a discussion among the members of the board and numerous discussions with members of staff who handle day-to-day operations it has been decided that multiple changes would better the organization as a whole and allow us to provide better service while still focusing on trying to grow the community. These changes will be as follows:
IGA will provide technical services to organizations that require assistance so long as they follow our mission and guidelines. We will also be providing consulting assistance as necessary to these organizations. It is a hope that with this change more focus can be put on organizational development allowing for our sister and supporting organizations to focus on community development and outreach.
The community and online operations of game servers will now be maintained by The Risa Project Community. This is being done to allow staff more control and the ability to focus more on working with the community rather than happening to complete technical related tasks which will be handled by IGA staff.
The separation of the two parts of the organization in no way affect the mission as a whole and our goal is still the same; to foster a sense of well-being among the community, provide social support and assistance in locating natural supports in one’s own life and helping to further develop a gaming as a concept for the mainstream to use to improve their overall well-being.
